Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Mon-Fri

Location: Crawley, West Sussex

In a nutshell

We're seeking an individual who enjoys employing strategic, creative, and innovative thinking to generate market leading plans that can influence Virgin Holidays market position.

Within this role your be accountable for leading, developing, and implementing our Tour Operator pricing strategy on a range of product ranges such as Flight + Hotel, accounting for £220m in annual revenue.

In this exciting position you’ll continually be evaluating the macro-economic and competitive landscape and division of pricing strategies to optimise our pricing. If this sounds like you, why not keeping reading?

Day to day

  • Implement strategies to generate revenue through scientific and forensic knowledge of the market and evaluation of the competitive landscape,
  • Develop and deliver pricing strategy for Core and Flight + Hotel pricing at route & cabin level to give recommendations to Revenue Management trading team for implementation
  • Work with counter parts in Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA) to jointly agree long term strategies that will improve revenue for the group
  • Combine pricing strategy experience, commercial acumen and problem-solving abilities to prioritise ambitious plans
  • Perform competitive and macro-economic evaluation of pricing environment and develop actions to resolve strategies to challenge and counter
  • Determine VHol’s strategy on Flight Ancillary’s, pricing conditions and fees to optimize revenue
  • Innovate market leading Pricing products to position VHol’s to grow revenue
  • Track and report on performance of strategies to Senior Manager partners around the business including Leadership team
  • Lead pricing strategy input into high-level long-term projects determining Commercial viability and opportunities alongside budgeting and forecasting

About you

We are looking for a genuine, authentic, red on the inside, commercially astute, fun and engaging people leader. It's a long list, but we know there is talent out there.

Requirements:

  • Expert in complex pricing strategy, theory, systems and processes
  • Validated experience in statistics, economics, aviation or business
  • Educated to degree level or similar with a wealth of experience in a related discipline
  • Strong critical thinking over key matters that affect our long-term business needs
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Validated ability to take care of difficult and challenging business issues.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to interpret, analyze, manipulate and present data and take strategic action
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering analysis to a high standard and working to deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Previous people management experience including training and coaching would be advantageous
