Clinical Nurse Specialist - Community

37.5 hours per week (part time hours considered)

£40,880 - £49,240 p.a. depending on depth and variety of experience in a similar role

St Barnabas House provides specialist palliative care to adults in the Worthing, Adur, Arun and Henfield areas through a range of services, including in-patient care, day hospice and community care.

This is an exciting time to join us at St Barnabas Hospice as we grow our community specialist palliative care team to support more people at end of life across seven days a week. Above everything else, our service is patient centred.

We are seeking highly motivated nurses with clinical palliative care knowledge and experience at Band 6 or above with confident decision making skills to join us.

This role involves:

• The ability to work independently knowing when to refer on or seek advice
• Undertaking holistic assessment
• Providing specialist advice and managing  symptoms
• Supporting those who are anxious or distressed
• Liaising with appropriate general or specialist services
• Avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions
• Providing a rapid response visit
• Enabling the patient to achieve their preferred place of care and death
• Full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes
