An opportunity has arisen for a Part Time Café Assistant to join GK’s Café at Chailey Heritage Foundation.  In this role you will be responsible for assisting with the day to day running of the café and providing a high level of customer service at all times. You will be working 22.5 hours per week, over five days (Monday to Friday, 10 am to 2.30pm).

You will be responsible for the following key responsibilities;

  • Assisting with the day to day running of the café
  • Supporting with the preparation of meals
  • Ensuring the café and dining areas are tidy and presentable at all times
  • Taking food orders and operating the till system which will include cash handling
  • Assisting with stock control,quantity checks, ordering and stock control procedures
  • Working to health and safety regulations at all times

Above all else, we are looking for an individual who possesses:

  • Experience of cooking and food preparation in a café environment would be desirable however not essential
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Someone who has an empathy and understanding of the needs of people with a Disability
