Job Duties

Purpose of role:

Analyse and facilitate resolution or resolve incidents and service requests from our internally written and third-party applications. Providing exemplary technical support while administrating the back end of the applications

Key Responsibilities

  • Support projects that will introduce new applications to Group Finance through analysis of business requirements, perform gap analysis and make recommendations for solution for delivery and on-going support and enhancement
  • Provide first and second line technical IT support applications.
  • Monitor and manage the escalations queue to ensure service requests and incidents across the application estate are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Data amendments to our Back Office system
  • Initiate and conduct system and process improvements including improve process documentation for common tickets
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of systems
  • Triage of incidents e.g log gathering, steps to reproduce etc
  • Adhere to controls and information and IT security policy and procedures
  • Ensure changes and issue resolution take into consideration L&Gs commitment to Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)

Skills Required

  • Experience of regulatory accounting compliance advantage
  • Experience in IT application support within the context of  financial accounting
  • Working experience with SAS tools/solutions in the insurance/finance sector and in relation to IFRS17 accounting compliance will be an advantage
  • Experience in database technology, client-server solutions
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design and data mining whilst using SAS.
  • Experience in system monitoring tools;
  • Experience of reporting on issue trends - spotting spikes and clusters of incidents
  • Ability to understand business process and learn and retain (and document) in depth knowledge of complex systems
  • Experience in SQL and VBA and ability to understand SQL statements
  • Experience of technical IT support of ETL and SAS solutions; payment  solutions; BACS-interfacing software; financial reporting; reconciliation/ payment and banking GFS applications;
  • Oracle Financials ERP
  • Experience with first and second line support of ETL and business intelligence tools in a finance environment
