Are you looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to be involved in a dynamic, forward-thinking, and exciting service? Well, look no further!

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust provides adult community services across High Weald, Lewes and Havens. We provide a Community Radiology Service which includes X-ray imaging and Ultrasound scanning at our 3 Community Hospital sites with the addition of a Bone Densitometry (Dexa scanning) service at Victoria Hospital Lewes. This post offers an excellent opportunity to develop your professional and clinical skills within an organisation that has been nationally recognised by the Health Service Journal top 100 best places to work in the NHS list. We have also been recognised by the CQC for the good work we do that makes a difference to our patients. Our results for the recent National NHS staff survey show that we are better than average for the NHS in almost all of the survey's key findings (25 out of 29).

We are looking for an experienced sonographer to join our team of professionals providing the Community Radiology Service. The post will be based primarily at Lewes, with the opportunity to work at Crowborough and Uckfield Community Hospitals. This permanent post is 0.6 FTE, working 3 x 7.5 hour weekdays.

If you are not looking for a permanent post we can also offer the same 0.6 FTE hours as a maternity locum until the end of December 2019, working at our Uckfield and Crowborough sites.

You will be using high specification scanners, funded by the hospitals' League of Friends, to provide a high quality service for the people of the High Weald, Lewes and Havens area of East Sussex. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work autonomously, offering a service for general practitioners and visiting consultants. You will be supported by a radiography assistant.

As a skilled Sonographer you will provide a caring, compassionate approach within our high quality imaging team. You need to be able to work independently, demonstrating a high level of competence and will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills. Ideal candidates should be skilled in general, obstetric & gynaecological and small parts ultrasound. Experience in vascular scanning would also be an advantage. CPD is well supported and the post holder will participate in regular peer review meetings.

Previous applicants need not apply.

This post may close earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.

Correspondence relating to this vacancy will be conducted electronically. Please ensure that you check your emails on a regular basis. References will be requested electronically also; please ensure you provide correct contact details for referees.
