Systems Engineer (x3)
Location: Crawley
Duration: 3 months
Rate: £46.75 per hour LTD
Our client seeks three Systems Engineers to carry out Systems Engineering activities for a Maritime Intelligence Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) project.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
The list below is not exhaustive nor will individuals be expected to be able to undertake all of them:
- Prepare system & subsystem requirement specifications, interface requirements and test requirement documents by analysing, decomposing modelling and refining customer requirements
- Produce subsystem design document under the guidance of the Solution Architect
- Assess the impact of customer comments on design documents, update the document and re-issue via Document Configuration Management tool
- Write and execution of Test Specifications which includes:
- Writing of test plans and test strategy documents
- Writing of test specifications, working from system requirements
- Execute test specifications (according to test plan and project schedule)
- Record results of test execution
- Raise/investigate/verify defects
- Maintain quality target/standard
- Performs technical/engineering tasks to develop design options and with the support of the architect perform cost-trade-off studies
- Accurately reports work progress and estimates to complete against work packages assigned by line manager
- Investigates problems in the field or with the systems documentation
- Represent System Engineering at formal Design Reviews, with particular attention to the reduction of design risks
- Undertake Cost Reviews as part of a Bid team
Proven Ability / Key Skills
- A strong Systems Engineering background is essential
- Relevant knowledge of requirements management, using DOORS
- Systems integration and acceptance activities proven ability
- Ability to investigate problems on the systems / equipment and propose solutions
- Previous knowledge working within payload, mission planning or communication systems (i.e. Data Links, Radio etc.) is extremely desirable
Additional
Due to the sensitive nature of the product all applicants must have worked within the Defence / Military industry within the last 12 months or be capable of obtaining Security Clearance (SC level minimum).
