Customers at Gatwick will have some help getting into the holiday mood from today (August 14) with a summer send-off courtesy of British Airways and Gatwick Airport.
During two of the busiest weeks of the year for the airport passengers passing through the North Terminal will have the chance to pick up some complimentary ice cream and fun beach giveaways including beach balls, beach towels and frisbees.
British Airways staff will be on hand to offer customers holiday gifts in the glass atrium entrance to the departures level and plan to give away over 50,000 ice creams during the two weeks.
But it’s not just British Airways customers who will benefit. Anyone travelling through the North Terminal will be able to come along and enjoy an ice cream.
Colm Lacy, British Airways’ head of commercial Gatwick, said: “It’s all good fun. We simply want to get people excited for their holidays and thought this was an ideal way of celebrating with them.”
Paul Fitch, Gatwick Airport’s head of terminal operations said: “At Gatwick we aim to treat every passenger as our guest, helping to make their journey a positively memorable one, which is why we thought what better way to enhance that holiday spirit this summer than by giving our passengers beach essentials and ice cream.”
