Job Details

Are you an experienced administrator, preferably with experience in hotel or conference event management? Are you prepared to work some evenings and weekends?

We have two vacancies for Conference Administrators to support the University’s Conference Office, Southcoast Conferences [southcoast.brighton.ac.uk], in growing the department, revenue and reputation of the Southcoast brand which includes Varley Park Conference Centre and Event Services.

The Conference Office is responsible for letting the University’s residential accommodation and academic seminar rooms during the summer vacation. They operate a year round award winning conference centre and promote a comprehensive range of event support services (internally and externally).

To be successful you should have excellent administration and communication skills and have a proven background in administration. You should be able to work independently, be well organised, and have excellent communication and customer care skills.

These are full-time, fixed term positions for 12 months. Job-sharers are welcome to apply.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships 

This is a grant-funded scheme which enables companies to access resources and expertise they need to innovate, grow and improve their performance.

KTP enables a highly skilled graduate, known as an Associate, to be employed by the university to work full-time in your company leading a strategic project, with the support of an academic team with expertise relating to the project.  

Projects last between 6 months and 3 years; up to 67% of the project costs are provided by the Technology Strategy Board or another government sponsor.
