Job Details

As an apprentice with JJS Maintenance you will learn and work alongside an experienced skilled tradesman, we have a contract with Mitchells & Butlers and our work takes us all over the country. Duties to include preparing a variety of surfaces with an understanding of the preparation processes required to apply the appropriate finish.

Your day to day tasks will include:

  • Preparing a variety of surfaces not limited with an understanding of the preparation processes required to apply the appropriate finish
  • To use the correct decorating product for each area of work
  • Material co-ordination
  • Ensure accurate/timely completion of any relevant documentation
  • Adhere to Company quality standards
  • Compliance with specification/compliance with materials and workmanship
  • To attend all relevant training courses including Tool Box Talks
  • Making repairs and restoring damaged parts
  • Maintain and care for all company tools
  • Wear appropriate clothing and PPE specific to tasks
  • Ensure all areas of work are left clean and tidy at the end of the working day
  • Work at height using ladders and scaffolding as directed and in accordance with the Company’s safe systems of work
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, customers to ensure the effectiveness of the company

Desired qualifications

Good GCSE results (A-C or equivalent) are desirable.

Future prospects

After successful completion of the apprenticeship a permanent position with the company could be possible.

Things to consider

  • The wages will be reviewed after 3 months
  • Due to the location of work there is a considerable amount of travelling

  • NVQ/Diploma in painting and decorating
  • Functional Skills
  • ERR
  • PLTS
