Are you looking for a post in the community setting? Would you like to further develop your OT skills with people with complex or urgent needs.  Would you like to follow your patients through differing stages of health needs from crisis into rehabilitation and living well with long term conditions?

Worthing Responsive Services is a multidisciplinary team providing a 7-day service.

We provide:
• A rapid response to people in the community who are experiencing acute episodes of ill-health.
• A supported discharge service to facilitate timely hospital discharges.
• Short term support for people who require assistance with activities of daily living.
• A rehabilitation service including a range of therapies.

• Support to people living with long-term conditions and frailty.

The team works closely with other community teams, GPs, and other health and social care professionals across different providers. There is also progress towards working more collaboratively with the voluntary and third sector organisations, such as Age UK West Sussex and carer support services.

The team is looking for Band 6 or experienced Band 5 Occupational Therapists to join the therapy team. The post-holder will need to have experience of working within a variety of clinical specialities particularly the community and the acute settings.

As a member of the team you will have the opportunity to:

• Receive support from other therapy colleagues.
• Receive clinical supervision from the Band 7 Clinical OT Lead.
• Participate in the in-service learning programme.
• Attend the annual SCFT conference day.
• Develop specialist areas of practice, relevant to the team.
• Participate and assist in the implementation of the Calderdale Framework.
• Supervise and support development of other staff outside of your professional group.
• Develop leadership skills through formal and supported training.
• Develop skills beyond the usual scope of practice of your profession.
• Assist in shaping future clinical practice of the therapy team.

Our ideal candidate will enjoy problem solving, have excellent communication and clinical skills, and want to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team. The service is continually developing and improving to meet the needs of our patients and commissioners.

You will support less experienced staff, act as a clinical educator for Occupational Therapy students, manage your own complex clinical caseload, and work with the Team Leads to ensure the provision of a high quality rehabilitation service for the local population.
Applications from candidates seeking full or part-time hours will be considered.

Applicant requirements You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
