Your new role

Shape and lead first class, business oriented IT Operations - IT Service Management, infrastructure, and applications management across a broad and complex IT estate within Group Finance function.

To take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, making sure management discretion is used in a consistent manner, and that the area follows the Group's policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximize business performance.

Lead the delivery of effective, secure and value for money IT Operations within budget. Ensuring exacting standards of quality, continuity of service, commercial outcomes, governance, policy, process and tools including information and operation security, disaster recovery planning, security assessment of technical environment. .

To set, regularly monitor and deliver on key performance indicators across the function, delivering continuous improvement, managing the relationship with key stakeholders and suppliers.

Lead the effective delivery of well controlled and governed service introduction, service management, service and application support in line with agree service standard.

Establish and manage, business plan, budget and forecasts, taking corrective action as necessary. Plan coordinate and deploy resources and workload appropriately across the team to meet service and business demands.

Develop and manage IT roadmap, ensure currency of technology and is appropriate to business and IT strategy; bringing in new thinking and market trends to drive business innovation.

To provide technical oversight and governance to projects, the design of applications and services with Group Finance and to the selection of /procurement of solutions so that there is alignment to technology roadmap.

Ensure technology and services and ways of working align with Treating Customers Fairly principles and guidelines.

What you'll need to succeed

Qualifications
Degree level or equivalent

Knowledge

The regulatory environment, including FCA, PRA is desirable

Recognised, formal standards for IT control and Security Management Systems, including ISO27001, COBIT, COSO, ITIL and NIST Cyber Security Framework

  • Technical solution design
  • Supplier procurement process and supplier management
  • Active Directory, Citrix, VMware, Cloud platforms Azure, SQL
  • Access control, Service desk, Asset Management, CMDB tools


Experience

Proven leadership ability and building high performing teams

Deep understanding and experience in shaping and managing IT service management, infrastructure and application management in a regulated, and complex environment.

Strong customer focus background,

To be able to appreciate strategy and think outside the box to take a broader picture view of situations.

Strong financial acumen with exposure to managing multi-million pound budgets and ensure value for money is delivery.

Significant experience in managing a portfolio of IT projects, with a mix of significant 'BAU' change and transformational change such as large scale cloud migrations.

Experienced implementing and managing IT monitoring and service management tools.

Excellent understanding of IT architecture, infrastructure and service models with proven ability to interpret these into services that meet business needs.

Ability to develop, and project a positive image of the IT function and company through interpersonal, written and verbal communications to a wide range of audiences.

Proven track record in partnership working with both internal and external stakeholders.

Strong organisational and change management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise.

Excellent problem solving, analytical and critical thinking.

A strong and practical understanding of both on premise and cloud computing environments.
