At Brandwatch we pride ourselves on the level of Support we offer to clients and our Technical Support team are a massive part in this. We are currently looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Technical team based in our Brighton office.

Technical support for a technology company is a big task. As an IT  Systems Engineer, you will support the internal system needs of every Brandwatch employee worldwide. They rely on the technical solutions you build and support, which enable them to deliver an efficient and reliable service to our customers. The IT team are responsible for ensuring the IT needs of our staff in the Brighton office and globally are met. 

In the IT Team we see the needs of the end user are paramount and we pride ourselves on the energy, enthusiasm and approachability that ensures that they get the best support possible.

Based in Brighton, you will be working closely with the IT Systems Engineers in the USA, and the Brighton based IT Infrastructure team.

Requirements

Your duties will include:

  • The day-to-day support for the IT operations globally
  • Resolving any IT issues as quickly as possible, escalating to the IT Infrastructure Team and IT Manager as appropriate
  • Support, maintenance and management of; macOS, Linux and Windows; Google Apps and other cloud based productivity services
  • Dealing with support requests through to completion, particularly from users based locally in Brighton
  • Carry out IT inductions for new employees
  • Advising staff on the best use of provided technology for their work needs

The following experience is relevant to us:

  • Hands on Apple and macOS support skills
  • First-line technical support, or customer service experience in general
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • A keen interest in all technologies
  • Ability to learn and develop
  • Self motivation
  • Some command line or scripting experience and an understanding of Git
  • Friendliness/professionalism under pressure
  • An understanding of DNS, DHCP and network fundamentals

These skills would also be beneficial:

  • Knowledge of one or more of: JIRA, DeployStudio, Munki, OpenVPN, LDAP, Sensu, Google Apps
  • Able to script tasks with Bash, Python or Ruby
  • Hands-on experience of installing and troubleshooting Linux, ideally Ubuntu
  • Hands-on experience of installing and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows
  • Any qualifications in Linux, Apple, Microsoft or ITIL
