We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with a background in manufacturing to join our client. This is a newly created role with a very clear focus

on supporting existing Production requirements and developing new test equipment.

You are likely to be working on several projects at any one time, with lifetimes of a few days to a number of months.

You will be working on aspects of project ranging from requirements gathering, requirements analysis, design, build and implementation.

You will report to the Production Test Manager of the R&D Department you are likely to work with Project Managers, Software & Electronics Teams and Production staff

Key Responsibilities

• Design and development of new test equipment,
• Responsible for bringing new technology into the business and improving the existing equipment to satisfy business requirements,
• Update existing test equipment for customer specific requirements,
• Maintenance and repair of the existing Production test equipment,
• Produce documentation as required for peer review and future reference,
• Enable all test equipment to be cost-effectively maintained with high throughput, uptime and quality,

Essential

• Degree/HND in Science, Electronics, Software or Engineering related subject,
• Software experience – C
• Designing electromechanical systems,
• Developing requirements and analysing architecture options,
• Ability to work across departments e.g. Development and Manufacturing,
• Some low-level electronics

Desirable
• Production and or automated test equipment design,
• Electronics hardware development
• Hardware and software integration,
• Experience or willingness to learn other platforms (Python, LabView)

Other relevant information
• Automated test equipment (ATE) project for the implementation of 10 ATE’s has been approved and requires implementation.
