Description

Main duties:

  • Develop and manage relationships with key business partners
  • Establish and manage relationships with external organisations
  • Responsible for identifying and interpreting new legislation and regulations that impacts calculation and recovery of service charges. Advise appropriate areas of the business on the resulting impact to ensure compliance and service excellence is maintained.
  • Manage the team's participation in internal and external audits. Work with auditors to provide required information and seek out opportunities for process improvements during annual and procedural audits.
  • Manage workload within agreed service standards and communicate regularly with all areas of the business who have a reliance on these processes to function effectively.
  • Continually identify and seek opportunities to improve processes, procedures and systems of work for the Service Charge team, users of our services and the Group to deliver efficiency and cost saving.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to business partners on service charges working together to provide excellent service to customers and the Group.
  • Manage and support the Service Charge team and business partners in the calculation of service charge estimates and actual expenditure.
  • Manage the collation of budgets and year end accounts for external managing agents to facilitate the inclusion in service charges.
  • Support the Service Charge Officers to respond to resident enquiries about service charges either directly or via the complaints or customer accounts teams.
  • Manage the calculation, collection and administration of reserve fund contributions for all relevant tenures. Ensure reconciliations are completed accurately and in a timely fashion and any anomalies are investigated and amended.
  • Manage the production of service charges

Profile

The successful Candidate:

  • Experience of working in a finance team and establishing procedures to support company and legislative compliance.
  • Experience of preparing and analysing financial information.
  • Experience of managing staff working in an environment requiring attention to detail and high accuracy levels.
  • Able to understand business issues in wider context
  • Able to plan, prioritise and manage high-volume workloads with tight deadlines
  • An ability to develop own and others reconciliation and spreadsheet skills.
  • Excellent communication skills including cross team collaboration.
  • Able to present financial information in a meaningful way to internal and external customers.
