Vacancy description  

The purpose of the role is to repair, refurbish and test equipment for Veritek contracts to maintain parts replenishment stock and back to base repairs for customer owned equipment. The key tasks will include:

  • Diagnose faults to mechanical/electronic components
  • Fault diagnosis of low voltage electro mechanical equipment
  • Repair, rebuild and test complete units and parts
  • Repair and control of customer owned equipment
  • Assist with parts sourcing where possible
  • Maintain own stock levels as per company guidelines
  • Follow pre-set ISO procedures
  • Proactively reassess procedures and highlight to management
  • Provide telephone support to engineers and customers
  • Preparation of equipment for install into customer sites
  • Use of in house system to record all time and parts allocated for each task
  • Correct disposal of all components as per WEEE regulations
  • General housekeeping and duties as allocated by Management Support management in new tasks assigned to
  • Repair Centre Health and safety policies adhered to

Working week  Monday- Friday, 8.30am-5.30pm Please note that anyone under the age of 18 will work a maximum of 40 hours Total hours per week: 45.00 (the hours are based on the candidate being over 18) 

Expected apprenticeship duration 13 months

  • Manual dexterity
  • Good grasp of mechanical/technical principles
  • Strong knowledge of physics/maths
  • Some understanding of electrical engineering principles
  • Good investigative and problem solving skills
  • Flexibility to work on mechanical/electronic components
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise

Qualifications required  

It is essential to have Maths and English GCSEs, at grade C or above, or equivalent. 

Future prospects Veritek will be looking to take on a successful apprentice for a permanent role provided there is a suitable vacancy available at the time.
