Senior Consultant needed – We’re looking for a copy-writer with strong account management skills to join our award entry consultancy team as a Senior Consultant.

Introducing Boost Marketing

We’re the world’s first and largest dedicated award writing consultancy firm. Helping businesses enter awards successfully is what we do for a living – day in, day out. We’ve written over 1,100 winning entries since establishment 11 years ago, with 75% of our entries making the finals and almost 40% going on to win.

We help clients with their entire awards strategy, from identifying which stories to run with, to creating 12-month plans of which awards to enter, providing an end-to-end service for writing and designing each award submission, and even conducting staff and customer surveys to gather the all-important evidence to use within the award submissions.

We work across all sectors and have a global client base that any marketing firm would be extremely envious of. What’s more, we’re award winners ourselves, having been honoured by the CRN Sales and Marketing Awards, CIPR Pride Awards, and International Business Awards.

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Consultant to join our friendly team. Salary is £22,000-£26,000 p/a depending on experience; with the potential to earn an additional £1,800 p/a via a performance-related bonus; plus a company pension contribution.

The two key attributes required for the role are:

1. Copy writing: Your main duty will be working with our clients to write accurate and engaging award submissions that will impress the judges and maximise our clients’ chances of winning. Awards are deadline driven, so you must be able to adhere to strict turn-around times for each project. As we work with clients from all sectors, you’ll work on a wide variety of interesting stories. Preparing an award submission requires excellent copy writing skills, an understanding of how businesses operate, and an ability to understand evidence and statistics and present them in a compelling way. Therefore, experience of copy writing is essential. Experience of writing award entries is also preferable, but not essential, as we will provide extensive training and support if you haven’t written any/many award entries in the past.

2. Account management: While we’ll start you off by giving you clients to look after, a big part of your role will be generating your own pipeline of work. You’ll be client-facing, so account-management is of the utmost importance. We have a team of project co-ordinators who will support you with this, but you must be confident building strong relationships with Managers/CEOs/Directors of both new and repeat clients, with the gravitas to present and field questions confidently. You’ll manage a portfolio of clients, suggesting relevant award schemes for them to enter throughout the year, negotiating client rates and producing accurate quotes.

Your writing and account management skills must ultimately ensure that clients come on board, love our service and keep coming back for more.

It’s also essential that you can easily travel to client meetings and site visits, the majority of which are based in London and the surrounding area.

In terms of your work location, it would be perfect if you could work out of our Hove office, but if you live elsewhere in the UK don’t let that put you off – if you’re comfortable and productive working-from-home then this could be an option too. You will also attend awards events from time-to-time.

If this describes you, please send your CV along with a covering letter explaining why it’s the job for you, to rob.henson@boost-marketing.co.uk by close of play on Monday 27th November.
